Head, Group Communications

Khairunnisak was appointed as the Head of Group Communications in 2019 and is responsible for overseeing the corporate, customer-facing and internal communications for all subsidiaries under the Malaysia Aviation Group. She joined the company in 2013 when it was known as Malaysian Airline System (MAS) as the Manager of Media Relations, Issues, and Crisis Management before becoming the Senior Manager of Corporate Communications (Internal/External & Media Relations) in 2015. Throughout her tenure, she actively contributed to crucial transformation projects, including the transition from MAS to Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) and the Group's financial restructuring in 2020-21, and played a pivotal role in leading the communications strategy during crises. Prior to joining the airline, Khairunnisak worked in public affairs at ExxonMobil Malaysia and in public relations at NatSeven TV (ntv7), with a part-time stint as a television host and news anchor. In April 2022, she was selected by Khazanah Nasional, the country’s sovereign wealth fund, as a recipient of the prestigious Wolfson Press Fellowship at the University of Cambridge.
